Increasing Flexibility and Problem Solving in Students with ASD
This workshop will provide an overview of behavioral and cognitive flexibility and the importance of focusing on these areas with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Often students with ASD adhere to fixed routines, rote repetitive responding or appear to have limited repertoires of responses. Flexibility and language will be discussed, and specific skills will be addressed. Strategies for increasing flexibility in students with ASD will also be presented. This workshop will highlight the importance of problem solving and generating multiple solutions as well.
